In his new book, The New Atlantic Order (2022), Patrick O. Cohrs offers an in-depth analysis of the transformation of the global order in the period between the era of global imperialism and the aftermath of the First World War. Cohrs reinterprets the Paris Peace Conference of 1919 as the first attempt to establish a transatlantic peace. Cohrs argues that this effort proved formative for more advanced conceptions of interdependent peace, collective security, self-determination, and a rule-based international order.
