SUMMARY:Book Talk: The New Atlantic Order, 1860-1933
DESCRIPTION:
In his new book, The New Atlantic Order (2022), Patrick O. Cohrs offers an in-depth analysis of the transformation of the global order in the period between the era of global imperialism and the aftermath of the First World War. Cohrs reinterprets the Paris Peace Conference of 1919 as the first attempt to establish a transatlantic peace. Cohrs argues that this effort proved formative for more advanced conceptions of interdependent peace, collective security, self-determination, and a rule-based international order.

Note: This Zoom event requires advance registration. Click here to register.

	Sponsors

Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, Harvard University

Harvard International and Global History Seminar, Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University

Weatherhead Initiative on Global History Seminar, Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University
