Siân Davies

Siân Davies received her PhD in Economic and Social History from the University of Edinburgh. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, where she works in the Global History cluster. In 2024, she was the Barra Dissertation Fellow at the McNeil Center for Early American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Siân is a historian of labour in the Global British Empire, with particular interests in transregional connections between labour, capital, and race. She grew up in North Wales, near part of the subject of her first book project, Making Sugar and Slate.
