Kirk W. McLeod is a PhD candidate in Harvard’s History Department. His research explores European imperial history in Africa, the Caribbean, and South Asia, with a particular emphasis on the global dimensions of racial capitalism, the political economy and origins of capitalism, the history of science, the history of guns, legal history, and intellectual history.
