Jaewoong Jeon
Jaewoong Jeon received his PhD in History from the University of Chicago in 2021. His work focuses on the history of capitalism in Korea and Taiwan, approaching them from the perspective of contemporary issues in the capitalist world. His many interests include precarity and creativity within the current mode of global economy, addictive commodities such as tobacco and sugar, comparative world history, and the Confucian classics. Before his PhD in history, he studied anthropology at the University of Chicago, area studies at Seoul National University, and economics at Chung-Ang University in Korea.
