Felipe Rodrigues Alfonso has a Bachelor's Degree in History at the University of Sao Paulo with partial completion at the University Paris-Sorbonne IV, a Master's Degree in Social History at the University of Sao Paulo, and is currently a PhD Candidate at the same institution. His research focuses on the slave economy of Campinas County (Sao Paulo Province, Brazil) from 1720s to 1880s. His broader goal is to comprehend the historical development of Campinas as synchronous with that of Second Slavery regions, employing the idea of a single temporality as central to his analysis. He participates in the Laboratory of Brazilian and World-System Studies under the coordination of Professors Rafael de Bivar Marquese and João Paulo Garrido Pimenta.
