The wars in Ukraine and Palestine have reignited debates about "frozen conflicts" in world politics. In both cases, as different as they may be, territorial conflicts cannot be resolved, statehood is contested, and both societies are constantly oscillating between war and peace. By comparing such conflicts from a global perspective, we aim to advance the paradigm of frozen conflicts, test its explanatory power, and discuss possible policy applications of the concept.
